What a beautiful weekend it was to have an extra day off!
On Saturday I caught up on some much needed sleep and probably didn’t roll out of bed until 9:00 - which is late for me. In the afternoon I headed down to Fairlawn and did a little shopping at Summit Mall. Saturday evening I met up with my parents, went to the Sprint store to get my new phone and then to Best Buy to shop for a new digital camera for my mom. We rounded out the evening with a nice family dinner at Macaroni Grill.
On Sunday morning I did my weekly house cleaning. Afterwards I caught up on a few TV shows that were still on the DVR. Sunday night I started Kevin Sessums’ book Mississippi Sissy. I first heard about the book on Josh & Josh’s blog but since then I’ve seen it mentioned in a number of places, so I wanted to check it out.
On Monday I got up early and went for a hike on the
Salt Run Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The trail is about 3.5 miles long and is a fairly easy hike. There is one part of the trail that crosses next to a wetlands and growing in it are some very large-leafed plants that look like they belong more in the Jurassic period than the 21st century. On Monday evening I headed over to my parents for a nice Memorial Day grill out to finish off the weekend.
I love summer!
