Flyboys is the story of several young American men who travel to France and join in the war effort prior to the US entering WWI. The men join the Lafayette Escadrille, a squadron of the French Air Force, and become the world’s first fighter pilots.

The movie does an excellent job of recreating WWI aircraft and numerous dogfights. The movie has a lot of action scenes and moves along quickly.

The movies only real downside is the weakness of some areas of the screenplay, particularly when it comes to the unlikely romance between James Franco and a young French woman.

I really enjoy James Franco as an actor and as usual he did a superb job in Flyboys.
